How To Backup Whatsapp From Windows Phone To Android

I was in pretty much the aforementioned situation where a camera fault forced a telephone "upgrade" to android - which was a shame as I really similar the 950XL. I judge this response might exist besides late for you but I figured it was worth posting anyway equally I imagine there'll be other people being forced to move away from Windows phones over the next year or so...

I also went to winwazzapmigrator.com after seeing the mspoweruser article referenced in a higher place but at that place was a new (February 2019) guide for users with the x5x devices that shows how to endeavour and unlock these pesky devices. I tried to follow it just didn't manage to consummate it as WPInternals kept failing the file download just I call back it works for other people so perchance just bad luck for me this weekend. In the end I did a Whatsapp backup to an SD card (onedrive would probably be fine likewise), dusted off my sometime Lumia 735, updated it to windows 10, put the SD carte in and installed Whatsapp and restored from this fill-in to get all the messages on this phone. And so followed the steps on winwazzapmigrator.com to unlock this phone, extract the messages file and do the conversion needed to Android and it is all working very nicely now.

Hi Chris,

What a clever way around the limitations on 950s! Information technology never even occurred to me to think about going back to my older Windows Phone to sidestep this. Every bit it happens, I threw in the towel a while back and simply started using WhatsApp on my new phone. And so I probably won't follow your communication, but it's good of you to mail service information technology here to aid others.

If nosotros take the xyz.db and folders arround, where to put in the Android device ?

/internal storage / WhatsApp / Database

So using migrator to convert ?

I only inverse my cleaved Nokia Windows Telephone with an Android 1 and I establish a neat application to transfer my WhatsApp content to Android, "Import That App letters from Windows Telephone": https://play.google.com/shop/apps/details?id=com.leonardocezary.transfer.thatapp.message. Information technology did a good task and I was guided stride-by-footstep through the process.

I tried to follow it simply didn't manage to complete it equally WPInternals kept failing the file download but I think it works for other people so perhaps just bad luck for me this weekend. I don't take a old win telephone. And then I am unable to follow your vivid workaround indeed. However, in this issue , I think Microsoft has an obligation to release something like a link to aid the X50 user to go rid of the unlock issue and so we may follow to employ a third political party software to motility on to employ WhatsApp with history. I really promise Microsoft can help the hardcore fans of WP at this end.

Just crazy that Microsoft does non offer any selection afterward so many years of Windows Phone loyalty.

I also have the same problem of accessing Windows 8.1 Whatsapp messages. I take the latest fill-in files with me simply how and where practice i restore them. Or even better if there could be access to the app storage files in the Windows file organization so the unabridged database will be accessible and hopefully can be read with SQL Lite.

Agree to the above that Microsoft does not offer any selection after so many years of Windows phone loyalty...in fact I wouldn't have shifted to Android if there would have been continued support for Windows Phones.

Can anybody from the Microsoft community offer a solution for the above problem....either decrypt Whatsapp database or give access to the Whatsapp database stored in the app storage space which is otherwise inaccessible?
