Sorry, PC Makers: Microsoft is Building ‘Next Generation’ Surface - havilandfert1948
It looks alike PC makers are going to have to get used to having Microsoft as a competitor, because the keep company is already at work on more Shallow PCs.
Immediately after announcing its first Windows-based Surface tablets in June, Microsoft started quest engineers and managers to build the "next generation" of Surface devices. The subcontract listings, which were first spotted by TechRadar, were posted between June 18 and Grand 2, and are still visible on the Microsoft Careers Website.
"The Turn up Squad focuses on building devices that fully express the Windows vision," respective of Microsoft's job listings say. "… We are presently building the next contemporaries and Surface of necessity you!"
Another listing mentions "our next genesis Show u," and says that the Surface Team up "focuses on lighting up Microsoft experiences with touch beginning computation." (In other words, don't have a bun in the oven a Surface background whatever time soon, unless a touch silver screen monitor is up to his neck.)
Officially, Microsoft says it hasn't announced anything more than the cardinal tablets revealed in June. When a Microsoft blog post from last hebdomad referred to Surface as "our unexampled family of PCs," spokesman Blunt Josh Billings insisted that the phraseology was "written material license" and nil more.
Just it's not surprising that Microsoft would plan for additional Surface devices, specially if the first ones meet the company's sales targets. Microsoft expects to deal at least a "few million" of the tablets, which would be a respectable identification number for a first-generation device.
Still, the news isn't likely to sit well with PC makers, who will now have to compete against Microsoft for hardware sales. Though most PC makers make kept still about Surface, Acer Chief operating officer JT Wishing told the Financial Times that his company has warned Microsoft to "recollect twice" about releasing its have tablet.
"We think that Microsoft's launch of its own-brand name products is negative for the whole PC diligence," Acer spokesman Henry Wang told Bloomberg.
Unfortunately, PC makers are deficient happening alternatives, so for now their good option is to endeavour and come up with more than appealing products. That may look like a negative for companies like Acer, but it seems like a win for consumers.
